Creation and assessment of monitoring plan
The first compliance deadline is the 31 August 2017. This is the date by which operators must submit a ship-specific monitoring plan to an accredited MRV shipping verifier. Start of the first monitoring period
1 January 2018 marks the start of the first annual reporting period during which operators will need to implement the procedures and systems described in their monitoring plan.
Creation and verification of emissions report
As soon as 2018 is over, you will need to create an emissions report for 2018 for each qualifying ship in your fleet and to submit them for verification. It’s important that you start the verification process as soon as possible because you will need to submit a verified emissions report to the European Commission by 30 April 2019. Read more...
Issuance of document of compliance
Upon successful verification, your verifier will issue a document of compliance. As the name suggest, it demonstrates compliance with EU Shipping MRV. The document of compliance must be carried on board each ship by 30 June 2019.
